Steve Ryan

Steve Ryan is a highly respected sports marketing and corporate executive with more than 35 years of senior management experience.


In October 2008, Steve founded Ryan Enterprises, a global management and advisory company that works closely with clients to deliver results that endure.


Previously, from 2000 to 2008, Steve was the commissioner and CEO of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) where he created a single-entity structure and secured significant equity investments. He expanded the League by adding six U.S. clubs and internationally, Monterrey, Mexico while negotiating national media partnerships.


Earlier, Steve was the President and CEO of Strike Ten Entertainment and President of the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins.


In 13 years as President of the NHL Enterprises, Steve was responsible for league's business activities and is credited with creating many exciting innovations that have left a lasting mark and are part of the NHL’s current profile.


Additionally, Steve’s corporate experience includes leadership roles at General Foods, Marriott Corporation and Paddington Corporation, part of the Liggett Group.


A native of New York City, he received a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University, which he attended on academic and athletic scholarship. Currently, he is a member of the Advisory Board for the University of Pittsburgh and the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham. Additionally, he is an Advisor to Gabelli Group Capital Partners (“GGCP”), JOX Sportswear and a Bridge, an educational consulting company. Ryan is a member of the Executive Committee at Fairfield University’s Center for Ignatian Spirituality.
